Panduri Mamidi, also known as Panduvari Mamidi, is a lesser-known yet delightful mango variety from the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, particularly around the Tanuku area. This mango is cherished for its small to medium size, round to oval shape, and greenish-yellow skin. When ripe, it offers an intensely sweet flavor with a bold, rustic aroma, making it a favorite among mango enthusiasts.

Note: Bag size - 9x11, One year plant.

Specialty of Panduri Mango

1. Intensely Sweet Flavor

  • The Panduri mango is known for its extraordinary sweetness, even when compared to other popular varieties like Banganapalli or Alphonso.

  • Its flavor is rich, earthy, and aromatic, often described as nostalgic by those who grew up with it.

2. Distinct Aroma

  • It has a strong rustic aroma that fills the room—something that mango lovers crave.

  • The smell alone often gives away its ripeness and quality.

3. Juicy & Pulpy Flesh

  • The pulp is fiberless, smooth, and juicy, making it ideal for direct consumption, juicing, and making mango-based sweets like aam papad or rasayana.

4. Unique Reddish Hue

  • When fully ripe, the flesh sometimes takes on a reddish tint, giving it a beautiful presentation and a hint of extra flavor depth.

5. Excellent for Pickles (Raw Stage)

  • In its raw form, Panduri Mamidi is highly valued for pickling, thanks to its sourness and thick pulp.

  • It's a traditional favorite for Andhra-style avakaya (mango pickle).

6. Naturally Ripened

  • Most sellers (especially in Andhra & Telangana) pride themselves on offering carbide-free, naturally ripened Panduri mangoes, which makes a noticeable difference in taste and safety.

7. Cultural Nostalgia

  • It’s a local heirloom variety, often associated with village backyards and home gardens in Andhra Pradesh. For many, it’s a taste of childhood summers.
